Built for generations
Why H+B means true sustainability in a world where devices are often designed to break quickly. We have been taking a different path for decades.
Our gemstone grinding machines, tumblers, spirators, and saws are not built for the next few years – they are built for the next generation.
For us, sustainability is not a buzzword; it has always been the very foundation of our engineering. Our 4 pillars of longevity:
- A minimal ecological backpack. The production of every machine consumes energy and raw materials. Since our machines are built to last, their ecological footprint per year of use drops to virtually zero.
- Longevity instead of quick obsolescence. We do not install vulnerable circuit boards, displays, or sensors that fail after just a few years.
- Our drives (featuring low consumption, e.g., 34W, 50W, 120W, and our remarkably durable 1/3 HP motor as our flagship) leverage the principle of pure mechanical efficiency. They consume exactly as much power as needed for the job – day after day, in continuous operation.
- Our machines feature a modular design. Every bearing, V-belt, and motor can be easily replaced using standard tools. We provide spare parts for our machines at any time. Value retention as waste prevention: an HB machine does not end up in a landfill. It retains its value over decades and is often passed down from generation to generation on the secondhand market.
This is a living circular economy that we have practiced from day one. A tool for life. Reliable, low-maintenance, and uncompromisingly solid. We put our heart and soul into our work and wish our customers much joy with our stone-grinding machines.
